(XIth c.) Table. It has been compared with georgian magida "id.", but this one is coming probably from arabic mayida "id.". P. Lhande compares the word with old fr. maie "breadbin, dough trough" that comes from lat. magidem, from magis, a borrowing from greek. Var.
(s. XI) Mesa. Fue comparado con el georgiano magida "id.", pero este viene probablemente del árabe mayida "id.". P. Lhande compara con el fr. antiguo maie "arca, artesa", del lat. magidem, de magis, del griego. Var.
(XIe s.) Table. On a tenté de rapprocher ce terme du géorgien magida "id.", mais ce dernier vient probablement de l’arabe mayida "id.". P. Lhande rapproche le terme du vx fr. maie "huche, pétrin" qui vient du lat. magidem, de magis, emprunté au grec. Var.
