huntz - Dictionnaire étymologique basque-français-espagnol-anglais(1099) Lierre. Peut-être apparenté à huntz "hibou" ou plutôt à ahuntz "chèvre". On touve en effet anzosto, auntzosto pour "lierre" en Navarre. Cf. français "chèvrefeuille".
(1099) Hiedra. Acaso emparentado con huntz "mochuelo" o mejor con ahuntz "cabra". Se halla anzosto, auntzosto para "hiedra" en Navarra. Cf. fr. "chèvrefeuille".
(1099) Ivy. Perhaps cognate with huntz "owl" or better with ahuntz "goat". One can find anzosto, auntzosto for "ivy" in Navarra. Cf. fr. "chèvrefeuille".
(XIe siècle) Hibou (Zool.). Peut-être apparenté à huntz "lierre". Var. hontz.
(siglo XI) Mochuelo (Zool.). Acaso emparentado con huntz "hiedra". Var. hontz.
