Voilà l'alphabet latin des Uyghurs.

Merci Orhan, c'est amusant avec les images, mais bon ça ne donne pas toutes les prononciations...
En fait si je comprends bien (et en lisant sur wiki) il y a eu un retour à l'alphabet arabe, après une parenthèse de 14 ans avec un alphabet latin spécial, ce qui n'empêche pas de trouver des textes ouïghours en alphabet latin, donc qu'on y revient à nouveau ?

Là je me demande surtout que faire avec tous ces "g" et tous ces "k". Sur wiki je trouve un alphabet de 32 lettres et là on voit que x et h sont tous les deux proches du h turc, mais en API on note respectivement [x] et [h]. Enfin je ne suis pas certain, car je constate des erreurs évidentes de comparaisons des alphabets reproduits sur wiki (page turque sur la langue ouïghour)

g (comme dans guitare sans doute)
gh (entre [g] et [k] ?)
gn (comme en francais ?)
h (comme en turc - accent de l'est ?)
k (comme en turc et en francais ?)
q (plus près de [g] ou de [k] ?)
x (est-ce [ks] ou [kh] ou simplement un autre [k] ?)

Bref, c'est le bordel...

J'ai cherché un peu et j'ai trouvé un document très sérieux qui résume un peu la situation. Pour bien comprendre, il faut regarder le tableau dans le document An Introduction to Latin-Script Uyghur à la page 8.
On y voit un tableau des lettres les plus problématique. Ils ont placé 18 colonnes représentant chacune une variante de l'alphabet latin ! On voit que la tendance est de se rapprocher du turc... Enfin le problème ne semble pas encore régler, mais dans la version no 18 il y a des caractères pinyin qui s'ajoutent tout à coup, ce qui rend l'alphabet plus reconnaissaible parmi les autres, mais moins facile pour les occidentaux...

Il n'y a pas beaucoup de différence. Nous disons "kaz" les Uyghuriens disent "gaz".
Dans certains villages turcs les paysans prononcent le nom de certaines choses comme les gens de l'Asie centrale, comme les Azéris parce qu'ils sont restés liés aux coutumes et jusqu'à nos jours n'ont pas changé la prononciation.

pour avoir fait des recherches, dans les maigres ressources sur l'ouighour, on ne trouve rien de pédagogique écrit en caractères ouighours arabes. Pourtant ça me semble être important pour els ouighours (au point qu'il y a qq décennies, le gouvernement chinois avait marche arrière après avoir essayé d'imposer une romanisaiton moderne ...

Ça me donne l'impression qu'il y a une hésitation qui réflète en quelque sorte une certaine quête d'identité.
Beaucoup de pays de la région ont dû faire face à ce genre de choix suite à l'éclatement de l'URSS.
Les liens avec les pays utilisant l'alphabet arabe ne doivent pas être trop fort vu l'isolement géographique et le peu de similarités entre les langues arabe et persane d'une part et turque de l'autre. Voter une réforme est une chose, et en assurer l'application en est une autre... Il se peut bien que dans les faits ce soit finalement l'alphabet latin qui l'emporte effectivement.

J'ai vu récemment un reportage sur les Ouïghours, on y parlait clairement de coexistence entre sinogrammes et alphabet arabe. Je me souviens par exemple des 2 graphies cohabitant sur l'enseigne surplombant la gare d'une ville. Connaissant les kanji et l'alphabet arabe, je m'étais posé la question à propos des écoliers ouïghours : l'apprentissage des sinogrammes et de l'alphabet arabe, si différents et si exigeants (sans parler de l'alphabet latin en option!) développe-t-il des capacités particulière chez eux ? Ou bien laisse-t-on bon nombre d'entre eux sur le côté de la route ?

Je serais curieux d'en savoir plus sur la façon dont on enseigne aux enfants là-bas.

Je ne sais pas comment fonctionne le système d'éducation dans le Turkistan Est. Il doit jouir d'une certaine indépendance par rapport au système chinois, mais quel statut a-t'il, comment est-il représenté au niveau nationnal ? Les chiffres qu'on donne sur les taux d'alphabétisation sont par pays et bien peu de donnés sont disponibles sur les langues minoritaires, même quand elles ont un statut de langue principale ou officielle au niveau régional. Si quelqu'un a des infos là-dessus, ça serait bienvenue.

En attendant j'ai commencé à traduire la liste des phrases de l'anglais au français, en m'aidant aussi un peu de la ressemblance avec le turc de Turquie.

Il y a quelques temps, j'avais fait des recherches sur ce sujet. Voici ce que j'avais trouvé qui rentrait dans le contexte d'une discussion différente sur un autre forum (http://www.lechinatown.com/index.php?showtopic=7676&pid=67284&st=0&#entry67284) mais dont certains éléments peuvent intéresser les participants sur ce fil :

Le turc - en français - représente deux entités sémantiques qui malheuresement se confondent (comme le mot chinois - groupe lingusitique et chinois - langue d'ailleurs) :
le groupe des langues turques
en anglais turkic / en chinois 突厥語族
la langue turque (une des langues du groupe ci dessus)
en anglais turkish / en chinois 土耳其語

L'ouzbek et l'ouïghour sont des langues du groupe 'oriental turkik' alors que le turc est une langue classée sous 'occidental turkic'. Je fais exprès de mettre en anglais pour bien faire la différence entre turkish et turkic.

Je crois que la langue française utilise largement le terme turcophone de la même manière que arabophone. Ce qui rejoint le concept d'unité linguistique du chinois par l'écriture. A savoir qu'il existe un seul arabe littéraire pour de nombreux parlers oraux désignés comme dialectaux. Personnellement je trouve ça largement peu clair linguistiquement.
Donc je trouve qu'il faut faire attention à ne pas laisser entendre que l'ouighour (par ex) et le turc sont intercompréhensibles. Ce n'est pas le cas (seul l'azéri le serait avec le turc) et le turkmène serait plus proche du turc (classé turkic sud').

Donc que ce soit vu de Chine, d'Europe ou d'ailleurs, la langue reste ce qu'elle est. Seule une personne compétente pouvant préciser s'il s'agit d'ouighour, d'ouzbèk ou d'autre chose encore.

L'utilisation de l'écriture arabe remonte à plusieurs siècles (suite à d'autres écritures) et n'a pas été imposée par Pékin mais au contraire 'autorisée' (reconnue comme écriture officielle dans le Xingjiang donc en Chine en 1987) par Pékin pour satisfaire certaines revendications. En fait, le gouvernement chinois avait imposé une écriture latine en 1969 puis est revenu à l'écriture arabe par la suite face au mécontentement populaire. Il ne s'agit pas de l'écriture arabe standard mais d'une version adaptée utilisant l'alphabet arabe auquel ont été ajoutées des lettres supplémentaires pour permettre la distinction de certaines voyelles ouighoures - ça s'appelle en anglais : Uyghur Arabic script et représente l'écriture la plus courante de l'ouighour.

Parallèlement, il existe une nouvelle romanisation (début des années 2000) : Uyghur Latin Yéziqi -- ULY

M'étant intéressée à la possibilité d'apprendre la langue ouïghoure, j'avais trouvé principalement des sites qui proposent cette version et rien (me semble t-il en 'arabe'). En fait, il s'agit d'une romanisation visant à faciliter l'apprentissage que l'on peut comparer au pinyin pour le chinois. Le sujet a l'air sensible car certains craignent que cela remplace à nouveau l'écriture basée sur l'alphabet arabe mais j'ai l'impression que c'est largement utlisée pour faire connaître l'ouïghour à l'extérieur.

L'ouzbèk utilise une écriture basée sur l'alphabet latin dans les années 20-40 remplacée par le cyrillique sous l'influence soviétique, mais depuis l'indépendance, le gvnmt tente de revenir à une version basée sur l'alphabet latin (en fait une nouvelle version).
