Cp. turco ata, hurrita attai "id.", chukchi atè "id.", inuit ataata "padre", tagalog tatay "id.", arawak taita "id.", quechua tayta "id.", atsugewi tata "id.". El hecho que el texto de Veleia tiene ata (IOSHE ATA TA MIRIAN AMA) y no aita parece en favor de su autenticidad. Alterna a veces con oto, otto, oito "tío".
