Jaune. De *or et suff. qualifiant -i. Cp. gorr-i "rouge", zur-i "blanc", etc. Peut-être apparenté au lat. aurum "or".

Yellow. From *or and qualifying suff. -i. Cp. gorr-i "red", zur-i "white", etc. Perhaps cognate with lat. aurum "gold".

Se puede pensar también a ori "amarillo". Fuera del vasco cf. sin garantía mo. orag, urag "primera leche". Var. horitz, oratz, oreitz, olitz.

Colostrum, premier lait après la mise bas. Certains comme Schuchardt (Die iberische Deklination, 5) ont proposé le lat. *colestrum comme étymologie, ce qui paraît douteux à L. Michelena (FHV, 314). On pourrait penser aussi à ori "jaune". En dehors du basque cf. sous toute réserve mo. orag, urag "premier lait". Var. horitz, oratz, oreitz, olitz.
