(1571) Petit chien, chien. Variantes zakur, txakur. Le terme a été comparé au sardo-corse giagaru "chien, chien de chasse". Une autre piste possible serait l’indo-européen *k’ekur, vieil-indien shakura "dompté, domestiqué". On a proposé aussi l’hispanique cachorro "petit chien" mais cela supposerait une métathèse.
(1571) Perro pequeño, perro. Variantes zakur, txakur. La palabra fue comparada con el sardo/corso giagaru "perro, perro de caza". Una otra posible pista sería el i.-e. *k’ekur o indian shakura "domado, domesticado". La palabra hispánica cachorro "perro pequeño" fue también proposada, pero necesitaría una metátesis.
