aho - Etymological Basque Dictionary-French-Spanish-English(1571) Mouth. Variants: ago, abo. If the primitive form was abo (1320), it would be posible to derivate it from the eurasian root *gab- "hollow, concave". Cf. proto-altaic gabu, xabu > abu "interior of the mouth". If not, perhaps from aho "breath"? Cf. also hokan shasta ahu "mouth".
(1571) Boca. Variantes: ago, abo. Si la forma primitiva fue abo (1320), sería posible derivarla de la base eurasiana *gab- "hueco". Cf. protoaltaico gabu, xabu > abu "interior de la boca". O acaso de aho "soplo"? Cf. también hokan shasta ahu "boca".
