Plural. From asko "mucho" and suff. -ar.

Pluriel. De asko "beaucoup" et suff. -ar.

Maple (Bot.). Old pre-latin word. From *esk- "tree" en eskarro (navarrese), escarron (aragonese), escarroè (gascon) "maple", cf. ezkur "oak", ezki "lime-tree". The root might be compared with german Esche "ash tree", from old german *esk-.
Arce (Bot.). Vieja palabra pre-latina. De *esk- en eskarro (navarro), escarron (aragonés), escarroè (gascón)"id.". De *esk- "árbol". Cf. ezkur "roble, bellota", ezki "tilo". La raíz puede acaso ser comparada con alemán Esche "fresno", del germ.*esk-.
Erable (Bot.). Vieux terme pré-latin. Racine *esk- dans eskarro (navarrais), escarron (aragonais), escarroè (gascon) "id.". Base *esk- "arbre". Cf. ezkur "chêne, gland", ezki "tilleul". Il convient peut-être de rapprocher cette racine des formes germaniques en *esk- qui désigne le frêne (all. Esche).
