(849) Way. Cf. Bid- in the sardinian toponymy, Vidou (Htes-Pyr.) < Bidol (1186, Cartulaire de Berdouès), Petrus de Bidose (1095, Cartulaire de Saint-Pée). In Eurasia there is mongolian bide- "to wander" and altaic peda, beda "ford" that might have a link with the hispanic forms Idubeda, Orospeda, etc. The form Idubeda has been linked with the basque meaning "three roads" (iru "three"). It might be also translated by idi-beda "ford of the oxes".
