(aquitanian Bihos-) Heart. The etymology bi hots "two sounds" is not very convincing. Link with greek bios "life" (cf. irish bith, bioth "life", latin vita)? The name of the heart is cognate with the one of the bile or the liver in many old languages. Cf. in basque behazun, bieztun, biotzun "bile".

(aquitano Bihos-) Corazón. No es muy convincente la etimología bi hots "dos ruidos". Cf. también griego bios "vida" (cf. irlandés bith, bioth "vida", latín vita)? El nombre del corazón tiene relación en numerosas lenguas antiguas con el nombre de la bilis, de la hiel o del hígado. Cf. en vasco behazun, bieztun, biotzun "bilis, hiel".

(aquitain Bihos-) Coeur. L’étymologie bi hots "deux bruits" n’est pas très convaincante. On a proposé aussi un lien avec le grec bios "vie" (cf. irlandais bith, bioth "vie", latin vita). Le nom du coeur est apparenté à celui de la bile ou du foie dans de nombreuses langues anciennes comme le tchétchène, l’omotique, le karen, l’abui, le halkomelem, le zapotèque.
