gari
(XIth c.) Wheat. Old word of the mediterranean substratum cognate with armenian gari "wheat", caucasian gargar, gergel "barley", hebrew gargar "grain" (with reduplication), cushitic gari "seed", etc. Cf. garagar. Perhaps also berber gari "flour".
(s. XI) Trigo. Vieja palabra del substrato mediterráneo emparentada con armenio gari "trigo", caucásico gargar, gergel "cebada", hebreo gargar "grano" (con reduplicación), cushito gari "semilla", etc. Cf. garagar. Acaso también bereber gari "harina".
(XIe s.) Blé. Vieux terme du substrat méditerranéen apparenté à l’arménien gari "orge", au caucasien gargar, gergel "orge", hébreu gargar "grain" (avec redoublement), au couchitique gari "semence", etc. Cf. garagar. Peut-être aussi berbère gari "farine".
