Scissors. From eurasian *kurV "sharp, to cut" (the initial eurasian *k- becomes *g- in basque, except in some proto-eurasian expressive words like khe "smoke" remaining khe in basque). Cp. uralic *kurV "knife", finnish kuras "id.". Dravidian kur "sharp". Altaic *kurV "id.", turkish, mongolian qur-, xurc- "steel, sharp".
Tijeras. Del eurasiano *kurV "cortante, cortar" (el *k- inicial proto-eurasiano se volve en *g- en vasco, salvo en ciertas palabras expresivas como khe "humo" que se mantiene khe en vasco). Cp. urálico *kurV "cuchillo", finés kuras "id". Dravídico kur "cortante". Altaico *kurV "id.", turco, mongol qur-, xurc "acero, cortante".
Ciseaux. De l’eurasien *kurV "coupant, couper" (le *k- initial proto-eurasien devient la sonore *g- en basque, sauf dans certains termes d’origine expressive comme khe "fumée" qui demeure khe en basque). Cp. ouralien *kurV "couteau", finnois kuras "id.". Dravidien kur "coupant". Altaïque *kurV "id.", turc, mongol qur-, xurc- "acier, coupant".
