(R) Hare (Zool.). From pre-roman *lepor-. It seems that, as for french "lapin" (rabbit), we have a base *lep-/lap- of uncertain meaning, older than latin: greedy ? big ears ? (cf. albanian lapush "big ear").
(R) Liebre (Zool.). Del preromance *lepor-. Parece que, como para el francés "lapin" (conejo), hay una base *lep-/lap- de sentido no seguro, anterior al latín: glotón ? orejas largas ? (cf. albanés lapush "oreja larga").
(R) Lièvre (Zool.). Du pré-roman *lepor-. Il semble que, comme pour "lapin", on ait une base *lep-/lap- de sens incertain, antérieure au latin: glouton ? grandes oreilles ? (cf. albanais lapush "grande oreille").
