(1643) Clucking hen. From roman cloca (sp. gallina clueca).

(B, G) Sensuality of the woman, sexual desire. The word refers here to the idea of crazyness or illness time as shown in the word lokaldi (B). The latter means also "time of breeding", wherefrom a link with loka "breeding hen", from roman cloca.
(V, G) Sensualidad de la mujer, apetito sexual. La palabra se refiere a la idea de locura transitoria, de enfermedad o indisposición como muestra la palabra lokaldi (V). Esta significa también "época de incubación", de donde la conexión con loka "gallina ponedora", del romance cloca.
(B, G) Sensualité de la femme, appétit sexuel. Le terme se réfère ici à l’idée de folie passagère, de période ou de maladie, d’indisposition comme le montre le terme lokaldi (B). Ce dernier signifie aussi "époque de la couvaison", d’où un rapprochement avec loka "poule couveuse, poule qui glousse", du roman cloca.

Corps. Donné par Lhande, Dict., p. 683. Var. probable de *loh-i "boue" explicable par le BN archaïque loha "corps" (fait avec la boue, d’après la Bible).
