on - Etymological Basque Dictionary-French-Spanish-English(992) Good. There are many hypotheses about this word: lat. bonu(m) but also a link with aquitanian forms like Bon-, -ponnis (cf. L. Michelena, FHV, 253; TAV, 17). The var. with h hon, hun don’t give the clue, the h of the northern dialects being not always etymological. Cf. also turkish on, ong "good", estonian onn "id.".
