De nombreuses hypothèses ont été émises au sujet de ce terme: lat. bonu(m) mais aussi un lien avec les formes aquitaines Bon-, -ponnis (cf. L. Michelena, FHV, 253; TAV, 17). Les var. avec h hon, hun ne résolvent rien car le h des dialectes nord n’est pas toujours étymologique. Cf aussi turc on, ong "bon, bien", estonien onn "id.".
(992) Bueno. Muchas hipótesis fueron emitidas a propósito de esta palabra: lat. bonu(m) pero también una relación con las formas aquitanas Bon-, -ponnis (cf. L. Michelena, FHV, 253;TAV, 17). Las var. con h hon, hun no resuelven nada dado que la h de los dialectos del norte no es siempre etimológica. Cf. también turco on, ong "bueno", estonio onn "id.".
