oz
Liquid, wine ? Proto-basque root deduced from the analysis of the word ozpin "vinegar", compounded with -pin for min "bitter". R. Lafon, , 1972, 26, compares *oz "to drink, drink, wine" with georgian sw, sv, cherkess swe, khinalug cv "to drink", what remains dubious. It supposes a labialisation by anticipation under the form of an ordinary vowel in the basque root-word. One could as well compare *oz with mongolian usu "water, liquid" for instance.
Liquido, vino ?
